WHEN EQUITY

MEETS

Entrepreneurship

Entrepreneurship —

the work of the makers, doers, and dreamers in our country — is deeply embedded in the American DNA. America itself was founded as a startup nation — an entrepreneurial act of courage and vision.

FOR DONATING YOUR TIME AND INSIGHTS

THANK YOU

In the wake of this current and amplified movement I've been strongly

motivated to investigate the future of our country and the ways we can put

power back in the hands of those that need it most. As a freelancer I'am currently using my profession and skills to partner up and help build a number of children focused non-profits. Anything is possible when you have a collective effort.

Is there more we can do? Is there an opportunity to set our future leaders up

for even greater success?

There are a number of grants, college funds, mutual funds, and even trust funds. Most with pre-requisites and some for the more financially established.  Is there a fund that is attainable for every child from any economic background that will support their education over time.  With a focus that not only sets the ground for independence and leaders but breeds true entrepreneurial business owners fueling The True American Dream

DEFINITION OF EQUITY

Equity is ownership of an asset of value. Ownership is created when the owner contributes to the financing of the asset purchase. Another way to finance the asset purchase is with debt. The amount of equity used to purchase an asset is relative to the amount of debt is called the equity position.

There are various types of equity, depending on how the term is used.

  • In investing, equity refers to stock as ownership in a corporation.

  • In corporate finance, equity (more commonly referred to as shareholders’ equity) refers to the amount of capital contributed by the owners. Put another way, equity is the difference between a company’s total assets and total liabilities.

In real estate, equity refers to the difference between a property’s market value and the debt owed on the property.

DEFINITION OF CAPITAL

Capital is a term for financial assets, such as funds held in deposit accounts and/or funds obtained from special financing sources. Capital can also be associated with capital assets of a company that requires significant amounts of capital to finance or expand.

Capital can be held through financial assets or raised from debt or equity financing. Businesses will typically focus on three types of business capital: working capital, equity capital, and debt capital. In general, business capital is a core part of running a business and financing capital intensive assets.

Capital assets are assets of a business found on either the current or long-term portion of the balance sheet. Capital assets can include cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities.
